"8 Months Old"
1) Garrett LOVES to roll! Over and over and to anywhere he can roll to in the house. If we put him down, he's gone in a matter of seconds. One of his favorite things is to do one quick roll and then look up at one of us with a grin on his face to double check that we saw how great he rolled. :-) His rolling just adds to the fact that he is extremely busy! He desperately wants to crawl because life is not moving fast enough for him. He's settled for rolling at the moment, but is pretty sure there is something else out there.

2) Garrett LOVES to jump and bounce! He got a jumper for Christmas and would stay in it all day if we let him. There are times when we think he's going to jump right out of it. Up and down, up and down!

3) Garrett LOVES lights! You can hardly leave a room or walk through a hallway without him throwing his head back to look up at the light. He loves for you to flick the switch on and off. His favorites are the ones in the house that have a dimmer switch.

4) Garrett LOVES to "talk"! His first two sounds have been "da" and "ba". He says them all the time. When he wants to get his point across about something, he adds "a" to the beginning of it. He screams "a da" and "a ba" at the top of his lungs.

5) Garrett LOVES to meet new people! He is extremely friendly and will smile ("flirt") with anyone who'll smile back. If there's no new person to meet during the day, he'll settle for smiling at himself in the mirror.

6) Garrett LOVES to sit up! For a long time, he only wanted to play on his back and kick. Then it was his tummy, which was usually only an intermission between a roll. Now he only wants to sit up. He acts like his toys are all new because he can play with them and explore them in a whole new way.

7) Garrett LOVES the outdoors! He is definitely our child. He loves to go for walks, but his favorite thing is to go to the park to watch Daddy fish. He loves that because he knows that as soon as Daddy catches one, he's going to bring it over for his son to look at (and touch if Daddy isn't quick enough).

8) Last, but not least, Garrett LOVES to be ALL boy, no question! His favorite things in the world are for his Daddy to toss him in the air. The higher Daddy tosses him, the harder he laughs. Any type of rough housing will work for him. This includes the way he plays with toys. His new thing is to use one toy to bang on another toy, because he's figured out that doing that makes more noise.

Daddy caught a baby bass just for him!
