Preschool Time Again

September brought preschool time again around here. This time, though, it was Grace's turn to join her brother.

A couple of days before the first day of school, the kids went to "Meet the Teacher" day. Garrett was excited to find out that several of his friends from last year are in his class again. A couple of his friends have little sisters in Grace's class, too, so it was one big party of kids getting to see each other and play for a while.



After going to Garrett's class, Grace couldn't wait to see hers. I remember when Garrett went to "Meet the Teacher" when he was two. He was pretty shy and "cautious" about everything. Not Grace! She went right into the room, met the teacher, and started playing. No hesitation with this girl! She dove right into preschool!







I dug up a few pictures of our little guy from other first days of school.

And...here he was this year...way too grown up for his Mommy's liking!

Once the obligatory first day of school pictures were taken, off we went...





Grace thought she was a BIG GIRL and wanted to carry her own "pack". Jeff put it on her, and she took off down the hall towards Garrett's class.



She got pretty far ahead of us, realizing along the way though that preschool is a pretty big world with a really long hallway. She looked so big to me standing there taking it all in. The sweet part came when she turned around, dropped her "pack" and asked us to carry it and hold her hand the rest of the way. Sister is still our little girl!





To say Grace was excited to go to school would be an understatement! I said over and over that she was about to burst out of her skin from the time we dropped her off until the time I picked her up after lunch. She kept saying, "Grace like school! Grace like her class!" One of her favorite parts was getting to go through her backpack after school in the car, just like Brother! She took out every single item and showed it to me, getting more excited with each piece. The preschooler was beyond happy!



Mommy was happy, too, that both her kiddos had such a great first day and are loving school so far this year!
