After we wrote their names down, the kids got a chance to put their hand prints on the foundation and on paintings that will hang in the new building.
As I was thinking about that Sunday, it made me wonder...
"What things and tools do you use to help pour Truth into the hearts and lives of your children? Family traditions? Devotionals? Music? Disciplines such as memory verses? Normal everyday stuff? Anything that helps them know and love God more deeply. On the same note, what are things you personally use to do the same thing in your own life, in your marriage, in your family as a whole? As always, please share anything you think would help someone else.
For us, we've been going through the devotional The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name
Love it!

We've also been "trying" to do a memory verse each week. It usually turns into us having the same verse for a few weeks at a time, but we're still trying. We usually try to pick one that ties into what we're going to be doing or dealing with that day or week (loving God and loving others, using kind words instead of what three-year-olds normally love to use, patience for all of us, etc.). I struggle with lots of spiritual disciplines, but especially scripture memory, so doing it with the kids is hard but has been good for everyone at the same time.
Okay, bring on any suggestions, ones for kids and ones for us Mommies.
Love you all!

For scripture memorization you should try 'Seeds Family Worship' CDs. It's music adults can enjoy. We go through the 'Truth & Grace' memory book with ours and there is also a CD sold through a different company with these catechism questions called 'Whooo Made You', which is SO good. We listen to these CDs in the car, at home while coloring, and while dancing a jig! It's amazing how much scripture I have memorized and how it's been absorbed into Aubrey's little brain.
Thanks, Tiffany, for the suggestion! G and G love music, so this will be great for them!
